Instructor Classes: Where and When
To become a Driver Education Instructor, you must attend the 80-hour Basic Driver Education Course.

Basic Driver Education Instructor Qualifications:
- Have at least four years experience as a licensed operator of a motor vehicle.
- Have not been convicted of a felony, or convicted of a misdemeanor involving moral
turpitude, in the ten years immediately preceding the date of application.
- Not have a revocation or suspension of his driver license in the five years
immediately proceeding the date of application.
- Have graduated from high school or hold a high school equivalency certificate.
- Not have had convictions for moving violations totaling five or more points
in the three years preceding the date of application.

METHODS OF PAYMENT
 Payment for transactions at DMV Driver License Offices are limited to cash or personal checks drawn on a North Carolina bank or on out-of-state banks having a branch in North Carolina. No other forms of payment are accepted, including debit and credit cards.
