A customer may request a duplicate driver license on-line. Use "Click@DMV", and click the
"Duplicate License" link which takes you to our "On-line Duplicate Driver License Site. A
customer may request a duplicate driver license for the following reasons:
- to replace a lost or stolen license
- to change a residence and or mailing address
- to replace a license that is defaced or damaged
A fee of $10.00 is charged. A duplicate license with the most recent photo on it is mailed to the customer.
If your address changes from the address stated on your driver license, you must notify the Division of
Motor Vehicles within 60 days after the change occurs. If your address changed because you moved, you may
visit a driver license office to obtain a duplicate license reflecting your new address or use "Click@DMV",
and click the "Duplicate License" link. If you did not physically move, but your address changed because
of governmental action, you should notify the DMV in Raleigh in writing of your new address.

Effective July 1, 2002, all 1996 and newer gasoline-powered vehicles registered in an emissions
county are required to receive the On Board Diagnostics(OBD II) emissions test. For further information

If you live in an Emissions County the total cost of an emissions inspection can range from $6.50 to $30.00.
