Traffic Services is a division wide operation under the direction of the Division Traffic Engineer responsible for the installation and maintenance of all pavement markings, signs, traffic signals, warning flashers, sign lighting, and roadway lighting within a specific geographic area. In addition, the Division Traffic Engineer and his/her support staff conduct engineering studies and make recommendations regarding the need for various traffic control devices as requested by the general public, elected or appointed officials, local, state, and Federal agencies, and others. The work is accomplished by a workforce consisting of 33 permanent employees operating under an annual maintenance budget of $3.2 million.
