Moving beyond awareness, this course will integrate information on laws and policies that relate to issues surrounding and reflecting diversity in the workplace. Participants will have the opportunity to further explore their role in allowing diversity to create and support more productive working relationships through various exercises as well as apply the concepts discussed in class using case studies.

Introduces practical, positive steps for handling on-the-job concerns by giving step-by-step procedures for dealing with employee performance and work habits. Five modules are covered in the two-day session and include: Improving Employee Performance, Improving Work Habits, Utilizing Effective Follow-up Action, Utilizing Effective Disciplinary Action, and Maintaining Improved Performance.

ADM 500     -     Americans with Disabilities Act/Bloodborne Pathogens
Thursday October 30, 2008	9:00 - 12:00	Division Office Downstairs Conference Room Sylva
This course introduces DOT employees to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and reinforces the DOT policy with regard to bloodborne pathogens such as: AIDS, HIV, and viral hepatitis (Hepatitis A, B, and C). Each of these bloodborne pathogen diseases are discussed in detail and specific safety precautions are identified in order to prevent possible contraction within the workplace and further spread of these bloodborne pathogens.
