Equipment
The Equipment Unit is responsible for the rental, repair, and maintenance of approximately 1,700 on/off-road equipment, 500 pieces of non-rental equipment, and eight gas stations with eight lube trucks to support the operational needs of eight counties as well as other state agencies. This Equipment Unit maintains inventories on approximately 180,000 gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel; 35,000 gallons of motor oil and lubricants; and $400,000 of repair parts needed to maintain this division's fleet and other state owned equipment. Fuel and repair parts must be monitored at all times in order to respond to adverse weather conditions. The Equipment Unit also compiles an equipment replacement list for all using departments. The equipment department receives, sorts, compiles, and collects for the sale of surplus equipment throughout the division. There are sixty full-time permanent employees in Division Two's Equipment unit.
