DIVISION ROADSIDE ENGINEER
The Division Roadside Environmental Unit is responsible for performing
landscape operations throughout the seven counties that make up
Division Five. These operations consist of seeding and mulching of
construction projects constructed by DOT forces; herbicide applications
along NCDOT right of way; landscape planting installation; and plant
bed maintenance.
Other duties consist of implementing the Wildflower
Program and Selective Vegetation Removal Program as well as contract
administration for contract Rest Area maintenance, landscape planting,
mowing, as well as plant bed maintenance. The Roadside Environmental
Unit strives to assist the Department of Transportation to continue to
be a good steward to the environment while enhancing roadside
aesthetics.

The Division 5 Roadside Environmental Unit has won numerous awards for its wildflower and daylily beds.
