The Division of Highways / Department of Transportation / Equipment and Inventory Control Unit / Raleigh Equipment Depot receives, inspects, and in some cases, modifies new equipment after it is ordered by Fleet Management for the State's fourteen (14) Divisions.  

The Depot has several sub-shops which specialize in various components of equipment, i.e., heavy truck repair, body / upholstery / paint, carpentry, plumbing, and component rebuild shops.   The Depot has facilities for machining, welding, and other required repairs.   These facilities are utilized to assist statewide divisions in repairing equipment for all user departments.
