The Division of Highways Fleet Procurement & Specification section is responsible for developing specifications, procurement, and assignment of new replacement equipment for NCDOT's equipment fleet. This section develops policies and procedures for replacements based on analysis of cost and performance data. The equipment administration group ensures all DOT equipment and vehicles are properly registered / licensed with DMV, DOT numbers assigned, placed on rent and insured.Fleet Procurement & Specification section also frequently hosts demonstrations of new equipment to allow vendors an opportunity to display their latest developments. Our objective is to listen to what is needed in the field operations, stay knowledgeable of latest technology, and to provide the most appropriate equipment for the Division of Highways.
