The Material Management Section provides support to field operations through management of the NC DOT Central Inventory and equipment budget management.

Central Inventory consists of approximately 8,500 line items of equipment repair parts, road maintenance materials, supplies and emergency spares.   The $5,000,000 inventory accepts requisitions from field units daily and delivers requested items to division units each week.

The Business Office provides finanical management for all equipment-related activities throughout the state including new equipment purchases, repairs, fuel, insurance, and associated administrative programs.
