How do I perform a screen print in HiCAMS?
Sometimes users want to have a printout of what is showing in the HiCAMS window but the keyboard's Print Scrn / SysRq button does not send the screen image directly to the printer. Users are unable to print a hard copy of some data that HiCAMS does not have a Standard Report for, or to save examples of errors they have encountered.
There are at least two ways to capture a screen print in HiCAMS.
Option One: Print the entire desktop
-
When you want to print the entire desktop, have the information you want to print on your screen, and hit the button on your keyboard called Print Scrn / SysRq.This puts the image onto the clipboard.
-
Next, open MicroSoft Word.
-
Now paste the image into the open document. Either Right Click and select "Paste" or keyboard Ctrl-V. The image will be pasted into the Word Document. It can be further manipulated within the document.
Option Two: Print only the active window
-
To capture just the active window such as an error message or pop-up window, hit
Alt key plus the Print Scrn / SysRq key. Pasting is the same.
Note: The image can also be pasted into MicroSoft Paint.
