Samples for these borings should be entered as follows.
If it is not already assigned to your Contract, update the Contract Bill of Materials for the Borrow Excavation line item to include the Material Borrow Material for Evaluation.
When entering samples,
The Accepted Quantity of Borrow Material used on the project is not updated.
NOTE: When the Testing Category of Source Approval is used instead of Acceptance, the Resident Engineer is not required to enter Disposition Comments on the Sample.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Corrections were made to the Accepted Quantities based on Pay Records which have already been entered. If your Pay Records total 11,925.33 CY, the Accepted Quantity will total 11,925.33 CY. Pay Records with a Book Number of 9999 will not be included in the Accepted Quantity. Any new Pay Records will update the Accepted Quantity.
Samples for Borrow entered with a testing Category of Source Approval and a Material of either Borrow Material for Evaluation or Borrow Excavation will not update the Accepted Quantity for Project Certification Reports. All existing Samples in this category will have their Represented Quantity and Accepted Quantity set to 1.
Samples for Borrow entered with a testing Category of Project Acceptance and a Material of either Borrow Material for Evaluation or Borrow Excavation will continue to generate an Accepted Quantity and cause a minor overstatement of the Accepted Quantity. This will create a discrepancy between the Accepted and Paid Quantities on the Project Certification Reports. All existing Samples in this category will have their Represented Quantity and Accepted Quantity set to 1.
