Any query tool that utilizes the Staff List window (to define criteria) has been updated to allow both active and/or expired staff to be selected as criteria for a query.
When using the "Save As" function to save a recently created query, a warning message has been added to prevent overwriting a previously saved query with a duplicate name.
The functionality has been corrected to permit a Public Query to be saved as Private.
The Query Tool functionality has been updated to increase the maximum width of display columns (1000 characters). This will provide improved legibility when viewing comment text, etc.
A running count of the number of Tables being joined in the query can now be seen on the bottom left hand side of the Query window. The error message received when more than 16 tables are joined has been expanded to explain corrections needed before the query can be generated.
Private Queries are now associated with an Office Location. This change allows all the users in one Office Location to access all of the Private Queries associated with their Office. However, only the creator of the Private Query can modify it. The Security Czars (Randy Pace, Phil Watts, Francine Moody, and Marie Novello) can assign a Private Query from one user to another.
The Query window now displays a new "Total tables in query" field in the bottom left-hand corner of the window. The number displayed in this field is updated whenever a
Improvements have been made in how HiCAMS saves Query results into the Microsoft Excel (.xls) format. The column headers now transfer properly and remain in the same order that they appeared in the Query. Additionally, the data type of each field is retained and therefore permits Excel calculations to be performed on the data.
Added a Cancel dialogue box to the Query Tool that allows the Query Retrieval to be halted. If Cancel is clicked, the user will receive a message advising how many rows of data have already been retrieved and given a chance to continue generating the results, or canceling the search completely.
The System will now check for overlapping ranges for 'numeric' and 'date' columns in the selection criteria. This capability is limited to data ranges defined with <, >, <=, >= operators. An example of the date error is Criteria where Sample Date > 03/02/2001 and Sample Date < 03/02/2001 - meant to enter 03/20/2001. The error message will read "Wrong criteria values for column 'Sample Date'". An example of the Sample ID error is Criteria where Sample ID > 200000 and Sample ID < 190000 - meant to enter 290000. The error message will read "Wrong criteria values for column 'Sample ID'"
All users with the appropriate Security Tags can create and save their own private Queries; public Queries require an additional Security Tag. (This was applied to Production before 4.5 Release.)
Users who do not have the appropriate Security Tags to save a Query will now receive an error message instead of an 'Insert permission denied' error.
Added a Calendar icon to the Date fields.
Provided format mask to all Date fields.
Formatting of saved Queries is saved.
Times which are not part of a date stamp have been removed from the reports generated by the Query Tools.
Now queries can not be saved unless the user has UPDATE security for all Query Tools
Quality Assurance has been done to make field names more consistent across all queries.
Data exported to Microsoft Excel can now be used in statistical manipulations without additional formatting changes by the user.
When you access a private query, you no longer receive this message, "Incorrect syntax near "*"".
When you print preview a landscaped report in any query tool, the heading on the report is landscape.
When you use the "=" operator on any query tool, the query will return the correct results.
All queries have been moved to a separate database to speed the performance of the application. You can still access queries in the same location in HiCAMS. However, data returned in your queries is no longer real-time. The query database is refreshed with production data nightly and at 1:00pm every afternoon.
