Currently, contractor submittals are sent to a design unit for review and a hard copy of the recommendations is sent to the Resident Engineer when the submittal is returned. Someone in the Resident Engineer’s Office usually retypes the information contained in this letter as a response to the contractor. For more efficient operations, Structure Design and Soils and Foundations will begin sending an electronic copy of their recommendations to the Resident Engineer. This electronic copy can then be used to modify the design unit’s letter without having to retype the entire document. The Resident Engineer will continue receiving a hard copy of the recommendations. |
