IMAP trucks are being standardized to meet the needs of any incident they come in contact with. Trucks are equipped with several tools including:
- Traffic control devices such as arrow boards, cones, warning lights, and air horns to warn traffic approaching incidents
- Gasoline, water, air pumps, vehicle jack, jumper cables, and other tools to aid motorists
- Push bumpers and winches to aid in clearing travel lanes of vehicles and debris
These trucks are bright yellow for improved visibility to alert motorists to proceed with caution. Drivers receive special training on how to deal with incidents and the proper use of the equipment.
When you see one of these vehicles, please move over to the next lane if available or reduce speed.
