Tree Spade

The NCDOT tree spade is utilized to relocate large shrubs and trees having a trunk diameter of up to six (6) inches. The tree spade is scheduled through the Raleigh office and comes complete with a fully trained operator. Divisions requesting tree spade work are responsible for identifying the location of any underground utilities in the work area. Division personnel will also assist in building water rings, mulching and watering.
