8.U401719, R-2000CA, Wake County. Raleigh Outer Loop from 0.24 mile
Northeast of US 70 to .35 mile Southwest of SR 1826 (Ray Road) North of Raleigh.
Cost comparison for the items used in this project are listed in Attachment 1-d.
8.11373, Intersection of SR 1150 and US 301, Halifax County. The property
owner adjacent to the DOT right of way used coal fly ash to raise the grade on their
property up to the roadway elevation. An encroachment was granted for the property
owner to also raise the grade on the DOT right of way between their property and the
edge of pavement. This was done at no additional cost to the Department.
8.1492701, U-2012C, Guilford County. Interchange from US 421 Interchange to SR 1695
(Regional Road) west of Greensboro. This contract included chipped tires in the embankment
fill and recycled plastic concrete bar supports. After the project was let, it was determined
that the recycled plastic bar supports were not available and this item had to be deleted from
the contract.
8.1631505, I-2511BA, Rowan County. I-85 from just South of US 29-601
Connector to just North of SR 1500 (Webb Road). This contract included
chipped tire material in the embankment fills. This project also included a special
provision in which the contractor was instructed that the concrete pavement
removed must be utilized some beneficial way and was not allowed to waste the
removed pavement in a landfill.
6.498006T/8.1492902, U-2525A, U-2581A, Guilford County, Greensboro eastern
loop from south of SR 3041 (Clapp Farm Road) to US 70 reloation and Greensboro US-70 from
SR 2851 (Penry Road) to SR 2828 (Willowlake Road). This contract included chipped tires
in the embankment fill.
6.589001T, R-0512D, Richmond County, US 74 Rockingham-Hamlet bypass from west
of SR 1992 to east of SR 1825. This contract included chipped tires in the embankment fill.
