| The surveying demands of the ever growing transportation network located here in North Carolina could not be met just within the Department of Transportation. Therefore the Private Engineering Firms (PEF) Group is responsible for the administration and maintenance of several million dollars worth of limited service contracts covering such services as conventional surveys, GPS surveys, Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), and Vanguard 505 Pavement surveys. This group is also responsible for the negotiation, scoping, administration, and review of route location activities involved with "turn-key" highway projects managed by the NCDOT Design Services Unit, ensuring that all products and procedures required by NCDOT are met by contracted Survey/Engineering firms. |
