TIN ƒ1-
A surface model used to represent existing terrain.
It is the direct translation from the extraction of
DTM elements. TIN files can be either binary (computer
language 0's and 1's) or ASCII (regular text). Other
variations on the TIN file extension include TNL (TIN
file from Location and Survey Unit) and TNP (TIN file
from Photogrammetry Unit).
