Turning 3D files into 2D files



Roadway Design will soon be getting 3D files (pln, prl, etc.)  from Location and Surveys and Photogrammetry.  When you receive 3D files you will need to export them to a 2D file before you start your design process.  Note: This does not include the files we have been getting in 3D such as your dtm files.  This is very easily accomplished through MicroStation.  This is what you do:
 

 
That's it.  You now have a new 2D file and you can start work.  Your old 3D file remains unchanged.  It is VERY important that you are in the TOP view when you export.
