Stokes County
Comprehensive Transportation Plan
Study
The Transportation
Planning Branch of the North Carolina Department of
Transportation, in cooperation with Stokes County
and Northwest Piedmont Rural Planning Organization,
is developing a Comprehensive Transportation Plan
for the county. The Comprehensive Transportation
Plan is a long-range plan that identifies major
transportation improvements that will be needed over
the next 25 TO 30 YEARS. An initial public
involvement meeting was held on October 19, 2005 to
discuss the development of the plan.
NCDOT is conducting a survey, which is a means of
identifying transportation issues that are important
to the citizens, officials, and businesses of Stokes
County. The survey will be available until September
