Topsail Area Comprehensive Transportation Plan Study
The Transportation Planning Branch of the North Carolina Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the local municipal governments in the Topsail Area, the Cape Fear RPO and the Down East RPO is developing a transportation plan for the area. A CTP Team consisting of representatives from the above groups was formed to guide a direct the development of the CTP. The CTP Team meetings are held at 10:30am in the Surf City Welcome center on the fourth Tuesday of the month.
The transportation plan is a long-range plan that identifies major transportation improvements that will be needed over the next 30 years. Major milestones in the development of the plan include the completion of a Goal and Objectives Survey (results below), consensus on capacity deficiency analysis (maps below) and continued coordination between the military, NCDOT and local government officials.
This plan has been adopted by all jurisdictions and endorsed by the Cape Fear and Down East RPOs and is expected to be adopted by the NC Board of Transportation in November, 2009. This page was last updated on October 12, 2009.
