US 64 Corridor Study - Phase IIA

Community Involvement

NEW! - Additional Community Meeting Scheduled

In an effort to respond to questions and comments citizens have recently made, the US 64 Corridor Study Team will hold an additional community meeting on:

Date: July 16, 2009
Time: 6:30 - 9:00 PM
Location: Green Hope High School, 2500 Carpenter Upchurch Rd, Cary, NC 27519

The purpose of the meeting is for US 64 Corridor Study Team representatives to provide information, answer questions, and accept written comments regarding the planning study. Doors will open at 6 p.m., followed by a formal presentation at 6:30 p.m. The public will then have the opportunity to ask questions and provide comments to Study Team members.

NCDOT will provide auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act for disabled persons who wish to participate in these workshops. Anyone requiring special services should contact David Wasserman as early as possible so that arrangements can be made.

Green Hope High School was selected by the Study Team as other potential venues located closer to US 64 were either unavailable or could not accommodate the expected number of participants in an auditorium style setting. The travel time to Green Hope High School is approximately 15 minutes from the intersection of US 64 and Lake Pine Drive.

Where can I find Information about the Project?

Visiting this website is a great way to stay updated on the status of the project.

Three newsletters have been developed as a part of the study. The newsletters provide information on the status of the project and how you can be involved. Newsletters were mailed to property owners within 1,600 feet of the US 64 Corridor and are posted below in both English and Spanish.

When will Community Workshops be held?

Two sets of community workshops were originally planned for this study. During the first set of workshops, held in May 2008, the Study Team shared the three potential options for the long-term plan. At the second set of workshops the Study Team presented the initial recommendation for the long-term plan, the recommended short-term solution, the land use assessment, and the phasing plan. The second set of workshops was held on April 27, 2009 in Apex and on April 28, 2009 in Pittsboro.

Workshop #2 Information
