Person County Comprehensive Transportation Plan Study
In November of 2008, the NC DOT – Transportation Planning Branch began a Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) study for Person County. This study is intended to produce a long range planning document that will assist local governments and its representatives in making transportation decisions in the next 25-30 years. The plan is a joint effort between Person County, the City of Roxboro, the Kerr-Tar Rural Planning Organization (RPO), and the NC DOT.
A CTP committee was created in December of 2008 comprising of individuals with interest in representing Person County and its need for an improved transportation system. This committee is composed of representatives from the County, City, NC DOT, Kerr-Tar RPO, and citizens.
Currently the committee is working on finalizing a DRAFT Modeled Roadways Network, developing a Vision and Goals Statement, and a Public Participation Plan and the Goals and Objectives Survey.
