If a municipality or school feels it requires or qualifies for the services of MSTA, the mayor, municipal manager, public works director, school official or local NCDOT Division official should send a written request for assistance to:

This request should be as specific as possible and include the following:
- Highlighted map showing the location of each problem.
- Supporting data defining each problem.
(For example: Brief written explanation of the problem, photographs, accident records, letters from concerned citizens, etc.)
- Name of a contact person and a daytime telephone number.
Upon receipt of the request, members of MSTA will contact the applicant to arrange a project scoping meeting or provide guidance on other sources more appropriately equipped to handle the request.
