Notice to installers who were certified in 2007 or before
: If you have not renewed your certification,
you must attend
the 2010 Pavement Marking Rodeo, pass the Rodeo test, and submit a renewal application
in order to qualify for a new Pavement Marking Certification
Card.
The Transportation, Mobility, and Safety Division hold
Rodeos which promote Work Zone Safety and correct Pavement Marking.
The Pavement Marking Rodeo is a one day training course.
Pavement Marking contractors will have to attend this one day
course to begin the NCDOT Pavement Marking certification
process. It will feature hands-on training using NCDOT
specifications and standard drawings focused on the following
subject areas:
- Paint and Heated in Place Thermoplastic
- Molten Thermoplastic
- Polyurea and Profiled Marking
- Pavement Marking Tape and Markers
- Glass Beads, Inspection Procedures, and
Retroreflectometers
- Traffic Control for Pavement Marking

The total number of attendees for the Pavement Marking Rodeo will be limited to 180 people per day.
Enrollment will be on a "first come, first serve" basis.
However, we may need to adjust your requested day to balance
registration. Registration for your company or division
may be limited in order to get a good mix of participants.
Note: NCDOT Division personnel should only
register through their Division Training Coordinator.
