- All northbound lanes will be open to traffic by May 17, 2008. After May 17, 2008 there are no long term northbound lane closures anticipated through the Summer of 2008.

Project Highlights
- This 6.5-mile project in Yadkin County stretches from South of Asbury Church Rd. (State Road 1125) to U.S. 21.
- Work will consist of overlaying the existing concrete pavement with a thin layer of asphalt and 11" of concrete pavement.
- The project also includes new pavement on the ramps and loops at U.S. 421 as well as wider paved shoulders and new guardrail throughout the project.
- Temporary median widening is required in the northbound direction to allow construction to proceed while minimizing the length of time for traffic to be reduced to one lane in each direction.
- Upon completion of the project, traffic will be returned to a 4-lane pattern with a new concrete surface.
