Introduction of Keynote Speaker Dennis Rash
Good evening.
It is my pleasure to introduce tonight's keynote speaker, Dennis Rash.
I had the honor of serving with Dennis on the N.C. Board of Transportation from 1999-2001 and know firsthand his commitment to improving transportation in North Carolina.
Dennis is the Executive-in-Residence with the Center for Transportation Policy Studies at UNC Charlotte, where he holds the rank of Visiting Professor of Transportation Studies.
He came to UNC Charlotte after retiring as Senior Vice President for Corporate Real Estate Services at Bank of America.
During his tenure at Bank of America and its' predecessor banks, Dennis led and helped establish the bank's first community development subsidiary, which managed commercial accounts involved with economic development projects in North Carolina, Georgia and Texas.
Prior to joining the bank, Dennis served for eight years as Dean of Students at UNC Charlotte.
After graduating from UNC Chapel Hill, Dennis went on to receive his law degree from the University of Virginia before entering private law practice for five years.
Also, Dennis is a former Charlotte Mayor Pro Tempore and City Councilman.
He has been a featured speaker at conferences of the Urban Land Institute, the U.S. Conference of Mayors, the National League of Cities, and the Southeast Division of the American Association of Geographers.
Dennis, and his wife Betty, reside in Charlotte.
Let's give Dennis a warm welcome.
