  • Employee Relations Committee Hearings

To challenge a committee member's ability to render an impartial recommendation, a written request must be submitted to the Hearings Office 7 calendar days prior to the scheduled date of the hearing. A Hearings Officer will then select a replacement, if justified.

    1. Chairperson

    2. Employee from a DOT Administrative Staff Unit (excluding Human Resources)

The Human Resources Director or designee has the responsibility to appoint grievance committees to review performance evaluations and pay dispute matters. The grieving employee will be notified in writing of the identity of the 5 DOT committee members at least 15 calendar days prior to the hearing date. Two members must be non-supervisory employees. The grieving employee may disqualify up to 2 members of the initial committee. To disqualify a person, a written request must be received by the Hearings Office at least 7 calendar days prior to the date of the hearing. If the request is not received within this time frame, the grievance committee will be considered acceptable.
