Off-Road Projects

Off-road projects are by definition independent projects (not associated with a highway project) and include greenways, rail-trails, multi-purpose paths, and grade-separated treatments at barriers. The projects showcased here are those that were funded and/or designed by the Division of Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation (DBPT).

These DBPT off-road projects are listed alphabetically by county and include completed projects and those in progress. To learn more about a particular project, click on the name of the project, and you’ll see a project description with photos.

To learn more about planning and design considerations for off-road facilities, go to Multi-Use Pathways under Bicycle Project Types. To see a more complete list of bicycle projects in North Carolina, go to Projects in Progress or Completed Projects.
